ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

We are no different from any other business these days in that we need to be conscious of our impact on the environment.

Testing the emissions on your vehicle at the time of a service is one way we can help our environment. We have been emissions testing for over twenty years and advising you whenever your vehicle is not performing to its best ability.

However, in the past we had not really looked too hard at our business environmental impact.

We have always collected our waste oil and other fluids from your vehicle and had them disposed of correctly. However we hadn’t taken too much notice of other areas of waste – just throwing them away in the rubbish as everybody else did was the norm.

Being socially responsible is a must in the ever-changing world in which we live in so we analysed our waste and in a short amount of time, we have considerably reduced the amount of waste going to landfills.

All our packaging paper and plastic is now recycled – these are separated and put in individual bins which are collected by J.J. Richards and Sons.

We have separate bins for cast iron, steel and alloys. We drain all our oil filters and then crush them. These are then collected by Metal Recycle Brokers, who also collect old batteries.

Using a registered business assures us that these products are recycled and not dumped into landfills.

By doing all this we have managed to reduce our landfill waste by 70%. We will continue to monitor our industry’s waste and endeavour to keep pace with new ideas to help keep New Zealand green as much as possible.

PARTS POLICY

To maintain the reliability of your vehicle, it is essential that quality parts and products are used. We are responsible for providing and fitting these parts and products.

Because of the free market policies in New Zealand today, our market has been flooded with substandard parts and products.

Petermark Automotive only deal with well-established companies with proven track records. These companies stand by their products 100%.

By doing this we can ensure trouble free motoring.

PRICING POLICY

Apart from our Warrant of Fitness fee, we do not menu prices for our services and repairs. For service work and small basic repairs, we are happy to supply a verbal estimate over the phone.

For larger repairs, we would price more accurately. As you can probably imagine, a clutch replacement on a small-engined, high-volume vehicle would be considerably less expensive than a high-powered performance vehicle. Pricing per job instead of using menu prices is more time consuming for us but because there are so many variations involved in the many different makes and models in our market place, we feel this is the fairest way of supplying you with an accurate account of the costs you will incur.

This also gives us an opportunity to explain what is involved or how we will carry out the repair on your vehicle. We can also advise you of any other work that may be required when undertaking a repair.

We have all heard the advertising phrases – “Priced from x amount of dollars” or “some/special conditions apply”. These conditions usually mean you pay more when the vehicle is being repaired.

At Petermark Automotive, we try to give you the worst case scenario so that there are no ugly surprises for you once we have commenced a repair.

We know that on some occasions we lose out on repairs but we believe in giving you all the information before commencing repairs enabling you to make an informed decision as to what you will spend on your vehicle.

In certain instances, some dismantling of your vehicle may be required to give you a more accurate price. Once again, we would advise you of this before we commence work.
If the problem with your vehicle is an intermittent failure, we may not be able to price this. Please refer to our FAQs on this.

We pride ourselves on being open and honest with our customers and on supplying a "value for money” service. We guarantee all our work. We welcome all enquiries.
